At BISCONO – VIOVAF Ltd we are proud to support the sporting ideal and fair play. We aim to strongly stand by the athletes’ efforts and support young athletes to fulfill their goals and dreams. A brilliant example is Panagiotis Bitados. Born in 2003 in Mytilene, he started swimming, but he quickly switched to training in triathlon. At the age of 13 he was the youngest athlete that took part in XTerra Greece Championship in sprint distance. 2018 was a great year for Panagiotis as he won the 2nd place in the World Championship in his age group (15 – 19) and the 5th place in the European Championship. Successively, he was awarded the Greek male Champion in Triathlon sprint. We continuously support Panagiotis, who makes us proud by representing Greece in World Triathlon races.
TEDxChalkida
BISCONO – VIOVAF Ltd is a proud supporter of TEDxChalkida since 2016, when it was founded, until today.
The support of BISCONO – VIOVAF Ltd is made in the context of our wider Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to assist and broaden local society horizons giving motivation, ideas and opinions that can be found in innovation of thought, science and art.
TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available free at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani and Philippe Stark.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = an independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance, rules and regulations for the TEDx program.
The TEDx program started in 2009 and in a very short time attracted international interest. Over 10.000 events have been organized worldwide, many of them in Greece.
The first TEDxChalkida, was organized in 2016 with great success, creating a local community of idea exchange and social activity, with the continuous support of BISCONO – VIOVAF Ltd.
